trans slipping when the truck is warm but doesnt slip when the truck is cold

hi i was driving around all day saturday so the truck was at 190 which is a good temp but i took off at a light and i hit 26mph and i felt a slight slip and it wont go away. but if i dont drive it for hours and get in it drives great but once it gets warm it starts to slip. could someone give me some advise!
thanks

when the vehicle is cold the oil is thicker causing higher oil pressure and when the oil warms up it gets thinner and pressure lowers. my guess is the clutches are starting to go and will eventually need a rebuild. you can always take it to a tranny shop and get the line pressures check and that will tell you exactly whats wrong. i would say drive it till she goes no more than worry about.

Try a bottle of lucas trans fix. Other then that = rebuild.

yeah i was a little low on tranny fluid but its only been two days. so i just put in two qaurts and i bought that lucas i just gotta put it in tomorrow im taking it into the shop to get fixed so hopefully they can fix it

Two quarts is alot more then a little dude. What are you driving. There are all kinds of places that fluid can go other then the driveway.

Did you check the fluid after driving it for 15 min and on level surface in park? If it needed 2 quarts...thats alot.... you have a leak. If your gonna take it in to get it "fixed" dont worry about the lucas...only way to fix it is for a rebuild. Unless its a sensor, which i highly doubt.

well i must of overfilled it but im getting it serviced tomorrow. the place im taking it to is 2 blocks away, but how much would i be looking at to rebuild it ive never had a bad tranny so im not sure ive been looking around there 400 to 700 would it be better if i just bought a rebuilt one or just try to get a new one? but its werid you would think it would smell burnt or metal shavings in the fluid i used to have a older model blazer and i had shavings in the tranny fluid but it still shifted fine.

im also driving a 98 blazer 4x4

Look for it to be around 1300.00-1900.00. Its not cheap. Not sure where you are getting 700 from. You MIGHT beable to get it for 900,but thats with you doing the remove/install,and alot of times they void warranties if you do anything to install it etc.

Look forward to a expensive rebuild. Think hard about the blazer. is the worth the money? You can get running blazers for 1500.00.

yeah ive been looking for a new trans for a few days i seen a few on ebay and my local craigslist. i would just sell mine but i have so much money into it so ill just spend the money to have it fixed
