Trans swap!

Ok yall just lookin for some experienced help here. replacing my transmission on my 92 K1500 Blazer and im wondering if it is easier to drop the trans and transfer case together or separate them first. it seemed as though itd be easier to do together but im open to suggestions. workiing on the ground with floor jacks no fancy trans jacks in my supply. Thanks

without a trans jack i'd spilt them because of weight and ballance - lot of weight to have on your chest or head by accident

almost wondered if itd work out to slide it all back as one and use the crossmembers as supports. then lift one side and remove the crossmember then let it down and do the other side. this is my first 4wd so im not familiar with the weight of a transfer case at all. would it be not so bad pulling it down by hand on its own then

The transfer case can be taken out by hand if you get it high enough. I'm a skinny 135lb and I can bench-press the transfer case up and install myself. If I had to guess I'd say it's somewhere around an awkward 70lb. But mine is an S10 so I'm not sure what the difference is between that and a full-size transfercase.
I would separate them though. Just to make things easier.

shew wee separate them i did but there must be a huuuge difference between the s10 and the k5 im a pretty solid 225 and that thing was a good 120 lbs lol. but separating was the way to go thanks yall for the insight.
