Transfer case help
#11
Try this. I bought some stuff through it. Sometimes the stuff hasn't been updated but I found a whole front clip for my 84 Jimmy for $250.00 with a great A/C condenser. I'm just afraid that if you jeep driving it you aren't going to have anything to put back together.

Update
So I wanted to make absolutely sure the noise was coming from the transfer case. I put the truck up so all four were off the ground started it and put it in drive... NO NOISE!! So there is only noise when all the wheels are on the ground.. The next thing I did was pull off my Front drive shaft.. The U joint is dry and dirty but no play.. Drove the truck around without the front shaft attached and NO NOISE... Feels like there is less resistance. I am just going to drive it like this for a while since I don't need 4x4 till winter.. So could this be a noise that happens only under load? It was clanging weather in 2hi or 4hi didnt matter. I might just be stuck with a 2wd blazer.

How's your oil level in the t-xase and your front differential? Does your front cable to your front drive release all the way? You also might check your vacuum switch on top of the t-case. In other words the driveshaft might have been making the noise but being driven to rotate not being the driver. If everything checks out OK I'd grease the U-joints and stick it back in and see. Also could be your front output bearing in the t-case if the shaft was being driven by the front differential. Fix it man!

Fluids checked good. Wont the front drive shaft spin regardless if it is in 4x4 or not? It was making the noise when I went into 4x4 also.. same sound. Clang clang clang. I will figure it out hopefully before winter but at least I can drive it in rwd now and have time to do more research. A rwd blazer is better than a dead one. Thanks for all the help guys!
