Transfer Case removal

Hey guys,

its been a while but i got some work done finally. I'm planning on rebuilding the engine & Tranny.

I got stuck on getting the transfer case out. It's not attached to the body but i can't find the right bolts on the tranny to get it out. How many are there and where are they?

Has someone done this before? It's my first time to take everything apart.

I got the engine supported and the tranny is still supported by the "strut".

Hope you guys can help me.

With both the NP203 & NP205, the transfer case adapter bolts to the back of the transmission prior to bolting on the transfer case. There should be bolts through the front side of the adapter that can be removed to drop the transfer case. THIS PAGE shows the NP203 fulltime 4wd transfer case & how it attaches to the adapter & transmission.
