Okay that's a good idea. I keep thinking I need to dilute the trans gel I used, but honestly that's what it's for. I'll wait until 15k or so and drop the pan and filter and see if it caught anything.

Thanks

This truck has been reliable as a hammer. I have put about 10k on it since the rebuild, no issues. No leaks, shifts smooth can't complain.

First dump and fill

So I am about 15k miles and decided to do a dump and fill. I use the Wall Mart brand ATF. and it took about a gal.

This is the fluid that came out.

Now I feel bad, my fresh rebuild is collecting dust in the garage. Old one is still hanging in there.

Great thread. I'm about to do this on my 2001 2wd blazer. I've got a buddy that does transmissions for a living to help me out & keep me from screwing it up. I've been able to ignore it for a while though since we have 3 vehicles.
Going to rebuild the trans, replace the spider fuel assembly & maybe do the lower intake gaskets for good measure. Once all of that's done, I can get rid of my "09 Yukon with it's high monthly payment.

Took a little day trip with the old Blazer. About 230 miles round trip.

The truck made it with no problems. This pic is at the destination about 115 miles from my home. Anyone recognize it? Hint, it's in Pennsylvania.
