Transmission issue. Rebuild time?
Got a 2001 4x4 and the tranny has been rebuilt before just not sure which parts.
-I have a delayed/slightly rough shift from 1-2 around 80% of the time. The rest work perfectly fine. I was told this may be the 1-2 accumulator pison accesible by opening the fluid pan. Thoughts? -Delayed reverse. It takes a bit longer for it to actually get into reverse. I have a bad propeller shaft and it clunks when putting in reverse so I can say for sure that it is delayed all the time. My cousin had a blazer too and his tranny gave out where he no longer had reverse. I asked him and he said prior to that he had delayed reverse as well. So what can this be? |
I have a "delayed" 1-2 shift myself currently. I got the P1870 code the other day that a valve is leaking due to excessive wear in the throttle body and the PCM can sense the leaking pressure and throws a generic code that something in the tranny is leaking. So after the PCM sees this it commands max line pressure to try to counter the "slip" that it sees. Hence the "rough 1-2" shift. I figured mine out by driving it for around an hour and towards the end of my trip the Blazer started banging gears. (Like shift kit at WOT hard shifts) That pointed me in the right direction.
Not sure about your reverse issue though... |
Well I have I got the tranny codes scanned and there was nothing on it soo ima go ahead and change the 1-2 accumulator soon and see if it changes anything.
And yeah I cant seem to find anything about the reverse.. |
Also there is this issue that my car had that I never really noticed because I was apparently really used to it(First car)
I find this issue apparent when I come to stop signs. Its like how you brake but before u make a full complete stop you press the gas pedal the car doesnt just continue going smoothly. Its very hard to explain but it seems like there is a split second that the gas pedal doesnt do anything to accelerate the car but after the split second is over it just jumps forward. I feel like I need to just do a complete rebuild before it leaves me stuck somewhere... |
