Transmission Problems

Hello all! New member to the forum and never done this forum thing before. Excited to join!

I have a 1989 Blazer with the TBI 350 and 700R4. My transmission goes into park, reverse, neutral, and first just fine, but is a hassle to get into second or higher.

Here is what I have tried so far:
1. Checked and looks like the governor seems good
2. Fluid is full
3. Tried working the TV loose by flooring it and it would engage 2nd and sometimes 3rd but not till way passed the speed/RPM and once I stop, I would have to floor it again to engage the next gear and that does not always work.
4. At high RPM it leaks fluid pretty hard. After inspection, it looks like someone jacked something up around the servo and tried to patch it up. (See images)

Is this fixable?

Any ideas or feedback would be amazing! I am really trying not to buy a new trans. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! From the pictures you posted it would be difficult to get 2nd and 4th. The case is broken where the servo cap retaining ring goes. Cap is under pressure for 2nd and 4th gear so any fluid loss is causing low pressure in those circuits. More than likely the band is damaged along with the 3-4 clutches.
The case is damaged beyond repair and will need replaced or replacement transmission installed. Wish I had better news for ya.
Good luck
Brad

Thanks Brad!!

Brad thanks a TON!
I have been working my brain hard on this one! Not the best news, but at least I have direction. Closure is a good thing. Haha.

Now I have to find another 700R4.... ugh.

Honestly, thanks a ton man!
