Transmission question

Would a 4l60e that has a code 4kcd work with my 96 blazer? I believe tha trans code means that it was bolted to 2004 5.4l? Bellhousing is different.

What would be the code for 96 4.3l?

Chevy never had a 5.4, did they? You mean a 5.3? I'm pretty sure the bellhousings were different between ours/gen 1 V8 and the LS engines.

Either way, I'm talking outta my rear end, and hopefully Transman shows up!

Wish I could just look at my trans. It's still in there lol

GM made a 5.4 (327) You need to see if your transmission is a one piece or 2 piece case. If its a one piece case they will not interchange. If a 2 piece you will have to swap bell housings. The stall on the converter is a bit different on a V8 vs. 6 cylinder. So use the converter that comes with the replacement. Be sure to flush cooler and cooler lines well! Good luck.

Oh, my bad. I've never heard a 327 referred to as a 5.4L. Always learning new stuff
