Default Transmission Slipping

I have a 96 S-10 Blazer, 4-speed automatic transmission. It has been setting in the yard for a few years, and i just put it on the road a few weeks ago. The transmission is slipping between gears, it seems to have gotten worse over the past couple week, and it slips more under heavy acceleration and going up steep hills. Any ideas on how to fix this other than replacing/rebuilding the tranny?? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, Thanks!

how low is the tranny fluid level? My K5 was doing this, then i noticed a small leak from the front gasket. I filled it up full of fluid and it's a lot better now. I just have to keep adding some every few weeks. If its full, is it very dark and burnt smelling?

Default Old s10 used to slip.

I had a 94 s10 and it slipped when I got it, adding fluid was all it needed, problem solved. I now have a 92 s10, and that hasn't solved the problem, any help would be great. Type in the search bar missing and slipping and let me know your thoughts! - Canaan

Canaan try the Lucas Mucas for trans slippage but eventually you will probably have to get a new to you or rebuilt trans. Belts are worn, seals are toast & it needs help or replacement. Sorry man but that's my $0.02 worth.

A trans flush might help as well but they aren't cheap so consider that.
