97 Blazer won't fire
My 97 Blazer doesn't fire unless I put a little gas straight into the throttle body. I used to be able to start it relatively easily when I put a little gas in there but now it just dies immediately.
Fuel pressure reads 50 psi with key on, 15 minutes later and it reaches 40 psi and stays there.
I'm not sure what's considered a large pressure drop. A friend of mine thinks I just have bad injectors. I'm in the process of taking apart stuff. The chilton's manual says I need to remove the long and short screws to remove the fuel meter body cover. I can't identify the screws anywhere. I can see the top of the 6 injectors each with 2 wires sticking out of it as I've already disconnected the single electrical connector that plugs to them.
Where do I find the screws to remove the fuel meter body?
Thanks,
John

Nevermind the two screws, I just realized I was looking at the wrong TBI type, I was looking at a model 220. It appears I have alot of stuff to remove which sucks, I just hope the problem really is with the injectors since I'm going through the trouble of replacing them...

I guess the big question is, is 50 psi enough to say that the fuel pump is working properly? According to the Chiltons, the correct pressure range is between 55 psi to 61 psi. I am 5 psi out of range. I can't imagine that 5 psi would give me this huge of a problem and others even tell me they think it's the injectors.
At first one guy was telling me that he thinks my injectors were leaking and flooding like an old carburator, that's when I checked the pressure and let it sit to check the pressure loss, it went from 50 to 40 in 15 minutes and stayed at 40 even to 30 minutes after pressurizing. I can't classify that as a huge pressure drop to say it's leaking.
The same guy then told me, "the injectors probably just went bad, they do that."
A completely different guy told me he thinks my injectors are clogged. This vehicle sat a lot before we started experiencing problems.
Well if it's clogged, why would my pressure be at 50 initially rather than between 55 and 61?

I read through the fuel system troublshooting on this site and I got to one of the steps that require me to be able to start it so I was unable to complete the test...

Just an FYI: 2 PSI on these rigs is enough to say the pump is dead. Seriously...they're that picky. Your leakdown is also a little excessive, probably due to the check valve in the pump failing.
