change a crank rod bearing drop oil pan
hello i have a 1988 s10 blazer 1st gen i look around and could not find out if it can be done can you tell me thanks for your time

Yes, it is possible to change a crank bearing with the crank still in place. You gotta loosen all main cap bolts and remove the one for the bearing in question. Then "roll" out the top portion of the bearing. I am not sure why you are doing this but I am guessing the engine is probaly not gonna live much longer.

If you can get the pan off, you can replace the crank bearings. I would never take such a short cut unless it was an emergency...

If the bearing in question came apart better just tear her down and save yourself some pain down the road....and not far down the road. Bearing less rods tend to eat a lot

but on my 1988 blazer can you pull the pan off when its in the truck still

Yeah u can drop the pan witht the engine still in the truck its just better to remove it and do a complete tear down

whatever one is trying to tell you is that if one is needing replaced then the others surely do too........ and the rod and cam bearings.........as well as half dozen other items...might as well leave it broke
