Vibrating part on engine

10 Attachment(s)
Hello,

I have a 2000 Bravada that is making a noise. I have narrowed it down to this part, which I cannot identify. It is loosely attached to a rubber lined hole on the engine and rattles when I shake it. It is attached to a rigid tubing that goes under the throttle body. My guess is that it is a kind of check valve for the vacuum system.

See attached images.

Thank you,
Nick

This is your PCV valve. Positive crankcase ventilation system...

Thank you. Are they supposed to rattle? AKA needs to be replaced?

Yes it is supposed to rattle when you shake it. Depending on the amount of vacuum at the time, it may or may not rattle when the vehicle is running.
