Vibrating part on engine
10 Attachment(s)
Hello,
I have a 2000 Bravada that is making a noise. I have narrowed it down to this part, which I cannot identify. It is loosely attached to a rubber lined hole on the engine and rattles when I shake it. It is attached to a rigid tubing that goes under the throttle body. My guess is that it is a kind of check valve for the vacuum system. See attached images. Thank you, Nick |
This is your PCV valve. Positive crankcase ventilation system...

PVC valve = positive crankcase ventilation valve - edit I need to type faster lol

Thank you. Are they supposed to rattle? AKA needs to be replaced?
|
Yes it is supposed to rattle when you shake it. Depending on the amount of vacuum at the time, it may or may not rattle when the vehicle is running.
