WARMING UP?

HEY GUYS I JUST GOT A 96 BLAZER TO GO ALONG WITH MY 01 AND WHEN I GO IT HOME I OPENEND UP THE RADIATOR CAP AND SAW ALL KINDS OF GUNK IN THE RADIATOR BTW IT HAS 150,000 MILES ON IT SO I TOOK IT AND GOT IT FLUSHED TWICE WITH NEW CAP AND THERMOSTAT IT STILL WONT HEAT ALL THE WAY UP IT GETS CLOSE TO ID SAY 180OR 185 BUT STILL WONT REALLY OPEN ALL THEY WAY UP AND I ONLY REALLY GET HEAT ON THE TO HIGHEST SETTINGS WHAT WOULD BE CAUSING THIS MAYBE A BLOCKED HEATER CORE?

THANKS

RE: WARMING UP?

How was it flushed with a hose connected to a tee, or with a power flush, or by disconnecting lines. Its possible the gauge is wrong due to faulty gauge or gunked up sensor. The lack of heat could very well be due to a blocked heater core depending on the flushing procedure you used it should have cleared it up unless it is really blocked with rust and sediment.

RE: WARMING UP?

THE FLUSHES WERE DONE BY A MECHANIC WITH THE MACHINE AND HOSES POWER FLUSHED

What thermostat was put into it? There are 185ยบ t-stats available; it's possible one was put in by mistake.

Second, using all caps is considered shouting - and is much harder to read.

And be sure you're using a Stant brand radiator cap.
