I'm not sure what a "weening" sound is but if it gets louder with increased road speed, it could even be axle grease seals that have dried up.
Can you locate the area of the sound?

Are you completely sure it is speed related?? Weeening sounds like alternator bearings...do you have underdrive pulleys??? Sometimes if the pulley does not rotate the alternator to specific speed then your electronics can't work their best. Todays electronics demand a lot from the alternator. If it gets to hot then it will fail...

well i took it to a place and he said it sounds like it could be my wheel bearing. He said it usually is not that high pitched as it is but he thinks thats it, says I have to get new assembly, says it costs 350. Is this accurate? Does it sound like this is the problem? anyone?

Yes, it might be it. Don´t know about the price though, as I live in Sweden and things cost a lot more here...

Could it be the altinator? I know when mine was bad in another car, the faster I went I heard a noise like that. Maybe get that tested just to be sure. Or are you sure its coming from a specific area?

Does it do it with the stereo off? That's the only place I've heard a "weeeeening" sound, from having a bad amplifier ground, or bad plug wires...
