What fluid and how much for front diff and transfer case?

if it smells like atf, then you know what you need, same thing with the gear oil. your front diff is gear oil, but i dont know how much. just buy a gallon of it and do the rear end first and refill it. then do the front and if its not full when the gallon is empty, (it should be, but like i said, im not sure) you can drive it to the store at that point in 2wd and get anything that you need. just dont forget to top it off.
how do I drain the rear end? do I have to pop the cover off? then how do I refill it? I know the front diff and transfer case has fill and drain plug

can anybody help me out with this? id like the get some fresh fluid in the rear axle

i can loosen it and break the seal slightly and let it drain out, and clean it all up and what not and put the new seal and cover on, how do i refill it?
