Default 700R4 Identification

Can any body help me tell the difference between a 2 wheel 700R4 from a 4X4 700R4. I know the tail shaft on a 2 wheel is longer, but what is longer? I do not have a 4X4 to compair it to.

A 2wd transmission would most likely have a tail housing on it. A 4wd one would not. As far as measurements, I don't have any.
