Go to LMCTruck.com and look up the catalog for your truck. A few pages in will go through the VIN breakdown for your truck which will list the capacity.

How are you attempting to go into 4LO? If you are not stopped and in neutral, then that would be my first suggestion. You should always have the transmission in neutral when making a range change in the transfer case. If you are stopped and in neutral, try getting the truck rolling slightly before putting the transmission in neutral and attempting the shift into 4LO.

You should have no problems with small block specific headers for your application. As far as other problems you may encounter, it depends on what you are taking out as far as the motor goes. If it is another small block Chevy engine, then it will be bolt in and go.

Generally 10 is 1/2 ton, 20 is 3/4 ton and 30 is 1-ton, goes for the fullsize vans and full size pickups too.

Swapping to a 4 bolt wont affect anything else in your drivetrain, provided you still ahve the factory V8. If you get too much power, than you next weekest link will be your Dana44/GM10 bolt front axle.

All fullsize Blazers came with half ton running gear from the factory. You have a 1985 fullsize Blazer and the title says K10? I would check to see if the VIN on the vehicle matches the title... if it does then do a search on the VIN because a "K10" designates a half ton 4WD truck, where as a "K5" designates a fullsize blazer.
Someone may have swapped out the dash or who knows... I wouldn't go down to the DMV asking any questions though.

thanks so much for all the replies i did the swap on the engines and all went good and it runs much better now and also did the body work and painted it in the drive way and it turned out great also thanks for the info on the trani issue i had to adjust the linkage about three turns in and it works great now also i found that a k 5 and k 10 mean the same thing 1/2 ton so now i have a poping noise in the front end and i am about to change the ball joints top and bottom and the u joints and check and replace the wheel bearings if they need it and new seals of coarse and this should be it finally done for the winter.i take off slow and drive it like my baby i now have 35 x 12.50x15 with sprinter rims and wild spirit tires and dual shocks inline put on with number 8 grade bolts this is like an army tank in my book i'm loving it.
thanks everyone.a new 350 with edelbrock intake and carb is a 650 with headers of coarse.
