1969 k5
Hi. Well hellooo everyone.
I'm posting on here for a bit of advice and/or encouragement, as I am looking at purchasing a 1969 Blazer. First of all, it does not have a hardtop, which I will need, as I live up in Canada. How hard are they to find and what are they going for? I expect it will need some work and/or hard to find parts? This is a nice truck (see pic) as long as you can live with the paint, which I think I can. He has done a lot of work - upgraded steering/suspension, ignition drive-train and rebuilt 350 with 4-barrel. All new fancy interior, floor is LineX'ed and bottom undercoated. No rust. I believe the brakes are original. What other work should I be thinking of? I'm already thinking TBI, and would go for a header whenever the exhaust needs replacing. What else should I be checking-out (for example, transfer-case?). As far as I know, it only has 70,000 miles on it, but that is a little hard to believe. The price is going to be something like $12,000 minus the cost of the hardtop. What is this girl likely to be like on the hwy with the lift and rubber? Jim |
