1986 K5 Blazer 4x4 Info

I am looking at buying a 1986 K5 4x4 Blazer and was wanting to get some info and opinions on it. Right now all I really know about it is that it's got a 305 in it which I do not care for too much but a 350 crate motor isn't hard to add later down the road. As far as transmission, gear ratio and such goes, I am hoping to find this info out tomorrow. But, what I am wanting to know is what were the different tranny and gear options for this make and year? I know some had a TH350 and 700-R4 but not sure if they came with anything else?
Also what kind of fuel milage should I be expecting with 32's and each tranny combo that it may possibly be? What are the common problems with these K5's that I should look out for as well?
Thanks for ANY information and suggestions!

Well, definitely check closely for rust and bondo masking.
My 305, gets me about 18 mpg hwy. Haven't used it as a daily driver yet as I'm having an oil consumption issue that I have yet to pinpoint. Mine has the 700R4 auto, not sure about the diffs though.
