1989 K5 blazer won’t start

I recently replaced the wires on the spark plugs because there was some misfiring happening. The guy that did the work completely screwed up the order. The engine turned over and ran for 15 minutes and everything seemed fine. The next morning the truck wouldn’t start. I turns over, but it just won’t catch and run. I called him again (I hadn’t double checked the order yet) and after replacing the cap and roster it started again. I put everything back together and again it wouldn’t start. Tonight I saw the wires were all wrong, and fixed the wires myself. My truck still won’t start. It gets gas all the way to the distributor (I can see it spraying in) so it’s nothing in the fuel line. The coil was replaced. (before I checked the wires) Now I’m confused. Either having the wires in wrong screwed something up, the wires are bad, or there is another underlying problem with the misfire I was getting leading to the need to change the wires. The truck sounded beautiful after the wires were changed, so it’s not the timing. My next step it to replace the ignition control module. My question is: Is this the next best step, and if so where the heck do I find a blueprint for its location? I know what it looks like, but I can’t seem to find the thing. Is there another obvious fix that I’m just not seeing?

The ICM is under the distributor cap I believe. You should check to ensure that the wires on both connectors at the bottom of the distributor are good.

Good luck!

Quit guessing and throwing money and parts at it and test
Do you have a bright blue spark at the plug end while cranking -
Also engine would not have run right and sounded beautiful and then suddenly wouldn't run if the wires were installed in the wrong positions. Sounds more like dist was installed wrong in the first place and wires were installed to match and by you moving them they are maybe in the wrong position now.
