4x4 not engaging
 

I got a 94 full size blazer. I put the 4wd in but it won't engage. I roll it in reverse and drive to hope it'll lock inbut doesn't. What could cause thi.

Could be a faulty front axle actuator. The early version is an electro-magnet and is, unfortunately, known for this. GM released a revised electric motor driven actuator to cure the problem, but it takes some wiring to put it in. I posted information about this around here somewhere.

i put a new actuator in but its still not engaging. is there anything else it could be to not make it go into 4wd?

also the 4x4 fuse is still good

Are you getting power to the front axle actuator? Did you put in the same style of actuator or did you install the newer update kit? The update kit requires some wiring changes, but is much more reliable.

Yea I put the same style in and should b getting power. Idk wut else it could be unless it was a faulty new actuator

i checked it and it has power i plugged it in to see the actuator move and it does slowly... but it takes like no pressure to push it back in. and this thing was suppose to be brand new? is that a faulty actuator or is it just that the electros all do that n suck

The thermal ones are horrible. But it should work if it is new. Maybe you got a faulty one.

well i jus checked n both actuators i had are good... sux man i dont know wut it could be. something bad in the diff in the front?
