Lightbulb 70 blazer move drivers seat back

hello, I am new to this forum, has anyone modified the drivers set on a 69-72 blazer? I am a tall guy, and the seat can't go back due to the step up in the cab. As you guys already know this. I have this Colorado born and raised truck, and for about 10 years it's been sitting on a lift in my NY garage. I think it's time to do some work...I thought i heard that there is a body mount there
which may cause a small problem... any tips would be very helpful Thanks Kenny New York..

Like you heard, the floor rises up in that area due to the configuration of the body mounts. My '74 is the same way although I am not tall enough for that to be a concern. Are you in need of more leg room, head room, or both? If headroom is not much of a concern, you could see about increasing the height of the seat base which would give more leg room. If done appropriately, it could allow for the seat track to move over the lip of the rear cargo area for it to move backwards further.

I must also give this caveate. Modifying the seat base, if done incorrectly, could turn into a liability in the event of an accident. Proper design & fabrication needs to be done to ensure that it performs equally or better than the factory seat mount for that case.
