700r4 rebuild ?
 

my transmission in my 83 k5 is gone(will not move any gear, pressure isn't there i can hold my finger over the transmission line going into the cooler) what would y'all recomen as far s kit wise, a master, or deluxe? I'm pretty sure the pump is gone, I plan on updating to the beast sunshell any other hard part upgrades y'all would suggest and were would y'all get the kit from and special tool wise what am I looking at?

Are you planning on trying to rebuild it yourself? Have you ever rebuilt an automatic transmission before? What are you planning on doing with the truck?

There are tons of different parts for different applications out there and if money is no option, you can certainly spend a lot of it on building a rock solid reliable 700R4 for almost any power level, but you have to be honest with your needs versus wants.

I rebuilt a allison ht 350 I believe but it was all disk clutchs and and planetary gears, I've done a couple standards out of medium and heavy duty diesels. Its going to be a project but no more than 400 hp in the future, yes I was thinking of doing it myself

I would suggest you invest in the ATSG manual(s) for the 700R4 and possibly one of the video tutorials prior to attempting a rebuild. They are quite complex inside and one little thing installed incorrectly can waste a lot of time.

THIS is a pretty comprehensive kit and I would definitely look into replacing the torque converter while you are in there.

not sure what they charge for rebuilding around you but i found, that rebuilding was only slightly cheaper than buying one from monster transmission and would not include upgrades only standard parts
