92 K1500 Blazer Engine Swap
My friend has a 92 Blazer and a wrecked 99 Surburban. He wants to put 99 Sub engine in the Blazer. What will interchange? If he uses the Blazer intake and tb will it bolt to the Sub heads? Any help will be greatly appreceiated.
Thanks

I don't what information you all need but they're both 350s and 4x4. The intakes and heads were our main concern. Anyone know what all has to be done to swap the computers? If we swapped ecms, we should be able to use the 99 fuel injection system right?
Thanks

The '92 will have a TBI 350 engine while the '99 will have an SCFI 350 engine. The blocks may be the same, but I am betting that the heads are different (intake bolt configuration - perpendicular vs vertical) and I know for a fact that the intake manifolds will be GREATLY different.
Now, the transmission.. The transfer case and transmission are both quite a bit different between the two. The '92 will have a 4L60 transmission while the burb will have a 4L60E if not the 4L80E (can't remember which). The major difference is the E on the end which stands for electronic. The 4L60E and 4L80E transmissions are electronically controlled and cannot be used without a control module (which is available from numerous sources).
This isn't a simple swap and will most likely require modification of parts as well as investment in the proper conversion parts to make everything new mesh with the old stuff you've already got in the blazer.
