94 Blazer - Seat Belts
The previous owner had a rather hungry dog and it ate the rear seatbelts... What years & makes can I get replacements out of? Are they hard to remove? I'm going the junkyard route... as I usually always do
Thanks! DT308/Anthony |
I updated your garage to state K-Blazer for the model so that people know that you have a fullsize. I had to look back at your previous posts to know for sure.
You may be able to find the seatbelts through LMC Truck that will work. As far as years to find donor belts, you likely could find replacements in the 3rd row seats of Suburbans which should be the same as your Blazer. In terms of what years to look for, 92-99 Blazer (Tahoe 2dr 95-99) and Suburban would be the same body style. |
Thanks, I appreciate both the answer and the garage update!! The third row seats have the shoulder harness up in the (rear) roof area on those models as well? I have to do some salvage yard scrounging this weekend!! Thanks again!

Yes they have to bridge over the rear window much the same as the Blazer (Tahoe) does.
And no problem on both accounts! |
Bring a breaker bar. I boought a low mile older chevy and that was the only bolt that broke off. Also make sure you have the right tools. Some require torque bits
|
Glad you mentioned breaker bar !!
So I have the front seat belts I needed (dog ate them ALL) and was planning on putting them in today but the truck planned against me. I used an electric impact gun - Biggest one Milwaukee makes, and I could NOT get the bolts out of the truck!! They're rusty, VERY rusty. I sprayed them liberally and am letting them soak. Any other ideas? I can't even get in there to grind the heads off! Would some heat around the bottom work? |
Heat on the bottom is normally the answer. GM uses loc-tite on those bolts so it might not be rust you are fighting.
|
The heat worked !! Now all I need to do is get rear seat belts. Looks like I have to take down the entire headliner to do so. Anyone ever does this, am I on the right path?
