another dumb fueling question
 

Alright, I was tired of chasing shorts and endless botched wiring repairs in my 89 blazer, so I decided to take a big swing and ripped the engine out and am replacing it with an older 350 carbed. Now I am trying to make a decision on fueling it. I planned to throw an adjustable pressure regulator in and use the stock lines as I have seen done, but since I pulled out the computer and most of the harness, as of now there is nothing powering the pump relay. What I am wondering is can I simply remove the wire to the ECMB circuit from the relay connector and still run it or am I going to have to find a new power source for the fuel pump? If so, whats the easiest way to do it?

Any help would be great. I really want to keep an electric pump and I don't want to drop the tank, but since I have unwired most of the stock crap now, I am not sure what all I am going to need to keep to make this work. I really don't care much about the sensors and gages, but a fuel pump with power would be nice!

yeah just wire it to something that goes on when the key is in the forward position not the accessory position. you dont need to be listening to the radio with the truck off and cause it to burn up. theres probably some proper way of doing this to the oil pressure switch or something but ive always ran it to a a key on position.

even had a s10 offroad truck that it was wired on a toggle, and ive left it on a few times and never blew up or had any problems. but you will definitely want to regulate down that pressure. i actually turned on a electric fuel injection pump while it was hooked to a carb.... looked like a waterfall out of the carb

I figured that was all I would need to do, but I wanted to make sure before I started chucking out parts of the wiring harness I might need. APpreciate it.
