Block Heater

Hey guys, just moved up to northern North Dakota, looking to install a block heater on my '90 K5 with the 350 as she'll be my daily in the winter. I got the Kats heater from LMC. Any of y'all know which freeze plug is the recommended/most ideal place to install it? I've done some googling, but I can't seem to find much, if any, info on it.
Thanks!

It seems to me that block heaters are normally installed on the driver's side towards the middle of the block. Look for an easily accessible location so the block heater can be changed if necessary.

FWIW, the factory block heater on my 4.3 in my 99 is on the driver's side near the middle of the block. I know this because I had to reach though the driver side wheel well to get to it to replace it.

As said by both Stovey & Christine, driver side middle of the block. That's where it is on my '74 K5. Easiest place to access.

no way id mess with a freeze plug.

"They" make ( or did) heaters in line with the radiator hose.
