check engine light
I hope someone can answer this. I have a 1994 k blazer that I got new. The trouble I have is that when I set at idle in gear for a long time the check engine light comes on. It I pull into my drive put it in park get out get my mail, when I get back in the engine light will be on. I can put it in gear go up the drive the light goes out and everything is ok. Sometimes when I drive and stop a a light it feels like the brakes are sticking cause when I get to a complete stop the engine is running faster then it slowes down and there is a bang like the brakes have released. Can someone tell me why the check engine light comes on. Is this a ECM problem.

its possible that the EGR valve could be opening up at low speeds, i have a 90 and a friend had a 91 with the same issue before. mine would only throw the code at highway speeds and his at lower speeds, this could be why your brakes are sucking too cause of the vacuum leak the valve is causing by being open.
see if you can somehow find a scanner for that vehicle and find out what the code is. if it comes up with a egr code replace it |
Thanks I made a mistake the light is service engine soon. But I will check it
