Electrical ?

I had a shop wire up my 8- 55-watt lights on my visor, the 6 forward on one rocker are a issue, when I turn them on, the wipers come on then off and the radio powers off then back on.

They used 40 amp relays, but I think the power source to the rocker is pulled from a fused circuit under the dash.

Should this have been pulled from the battery, same as the relay's power to lights ?

Does anyone have a wire diagram for 6 light hook up ?

Thanks Bill

You have some messed up wiring if other things power on when you flip the switch for the lights.

You should have ran the main power feed (not the switched power source) for the relay to the battery using an appropriately sized wire and fuse for the known load (6x 55W = 330W). So you should be using a 30A fuse at a bare minimum with some 10ga wire). The wire from the battery should be run to pin 30 on the relay. Pin 87 should go to your lights. Pin 85 to your switched +12V source and Pin 86 to a good ground.

There should be nothing tied in to any other systems on the vehicle from the switched side of the relay.

The wire you hook to pin 87 should then just run to all 6 of the forward facing lights. Then the other wire to the lights needs a good ground location. You will need to run 10ga wire for the grounds as well.

Thanks for the info, the shop that wired it found the problem and rewired, works great now.
