Emergency Brake Engaging

Hi, I have an 87 4x4 Diesel Blazer K5, and I have just replaced some parts in the drum brakes in the back plus fixed some old parts in the front(ball joints, u joint etc) And I have noticed that sometimes after the car is turned off and in park when I start to use it the next time the Emergency Brake is engaged but the pedal isn't pushed in.

What could be causing this?

Thanks

You may just have the brake shoes adjusted improperly. Try loosening up the fit a bit and see how that goes.
