Engine rebuild

The time has come to rebuild the engine on my 89 k5 350 blazer and I'm back to ask more questions!
Is it possible to remove the engine with the transmission still attached? It looks like it will be kinda tight, but I think it will work. that's all I need to know before I have at it tomorrow! Thanks for your help!

Sure is. You'll want to get the radiator out and remove the hood. You will then have to have something that can lift the engine and transmission high enough to clear.

Drain the trans too. Soon as you tip it its gonna spill all the fluid out

That makes it much easier, thanks for the info!

What are you using to pull it?
If you need a coulpe extra inches of clearance try letting the air out of your front tires.

This is just an option but it only took me and a buddy aboyt 45 minutes to pull the whole front clip on mine and his blazers. It really made it easier to pull the motor and tranny and just setting valves and hooking everything up was so easy cause I just sat on the tire made him hand me tools.

Well, if it comes down to it a bobcat skid steer with forks can be used if I need a few more inches(or many more feet) than the engine lift can manage.
