Hard to steer

1985 K5 4X4. Hard to steer in tight spots and making turns. I have to pull hard just to make turns. It has power steering, resorvoir is full, it doesn't make any noise when I steer. It's just a pain in the ass to drive a basically powerless-steering vehicle. Comments, suggestions, offers to buy are welcome!!!

does the steering wheel only move like 1" at a time. kind of like the pump is cycling?

mine does the same thing. check the bolts that hold the pump on. i think there is 3. i know on mine the housing is cracked on the pump. if they are all tight , i would look for a bigger pump from a 3/4 or 1 ton. epecially if you are running bigger tires.

I'm running 33's on it right now. Would a bigger pump from a 3/4 or 1 ton match to mine?? Thanks for your help!!!

i don't know for sure. chevy did a good job of keeping stuff close or the same back in the 80s. might be worth a trip to the junkyard just to see. you always come home with more than you planned too.

Yup, I live in Sac. There's a PNP in Rancho Cordova, Antelope, Rocklin and South Sac. I hear the one in Fairfield has a boatload of Blazers. I'm gonna check that one out next...
