how do i replace ignition cylinder 86 full size blazer
 

Well i just bought one of those military blazers from auction. Has 6.2 diesel in it and they are suppose to all have universal key for ignition. The blazer i bought had original ignition replaced and i need to replace it again because when i bought it it doesnt have a key. How do i go about replacing the ignition cylinder in it with a new one from auto store? any help greatly appreciated

Without the key, it is going to be fun! You are supposed to turn the key to a certain position as part of the process of removing the cylinder.

just go on ebay and buy the key. i see them up for sale once and a while. the military used that same key in every vehicle. i thought it was wierd when my door key started my truck, also a lock smith might even have the key design on file. i had to swap out my steering column anyways when i got mine. but keep that key on my ring anyways, its amazing how many military k5 guys didnt know that anyone with the same truck can open and start their vehicle lol
