RE: how do i take window motor out

I have not removed a window motor in an older vehicle, mostly late ninetys. but i think it souhld be about the same process. i think in the older vehicles it would be easier, just because there is less things in the way. when you get the door panel off the window motor and regulator should have an access hole to get at it. to save alot of time and hassle, dont mess with the regulator. looking at the lmc truck catalog, the motor is bolted to the regulator by three bolts or screw. some manfacturers have holes drilled in the door skin on the inside of the door to get access at these bolts. if there is not any, you have to make your own. Your going to have todrill holes in the door skin onthe inside.i suggest using a smaller drill bit to get you hole close to bolt, then making a bigger one to be able to get you screwdriver and or socket through the door skin. after you get your holes drilled in the door skin, simply undo the three bolts (screws), un hook the wires going to it, and pull the motor out through the access panel in the door skin. This is the way i do it at work, not saying its best way to do it, but it is easy and quick. i hope i have been some help, good luck!
