im not to sure whats happening plz help.....

so i have an 81 silverado blazer 4wd manual , and every tim i go up hill or punch the gas my engine sputters... this just happend after about a 200 mile roadtrip... can anyone tell me what the problem is? is it my fuel pump? timing belt? thanks

AwesomeAlbert, can you duplicate the problem while the vehicle is in park by manually revving the throttle, or does this happen only when the engine is under a load? If you can duplicate the problem by revving the throttle by hand, have a friend check the fuel lines as your doing this to verify if you have any leaks in the fuel lines.

If you cannot duplicate it while revving the engine in park/neutral, then I would look towards timing.

If you need some timing tips, go to MSD.COM, they have a great video on timing for SBC.

thanks for the replys... when i am in neutral and i rev my engine the sputtering problem does'nt occur. so does that mean its more than likeley the timing is off? oh and msd.com takes me to some wierd like peace corps site
