Leaky Trans Shift Linkage

Hello gents! You guys have a great site here! I just picked up an 1984 Chevy Blazer. I love it and feel pretty good about the money paid for it. It runs and drives great, but, came with some leaks. No biggie. I just replaced the HP hose on the power steering (no longer leaking). Also replaced the output shaft seals on the transfer case. Now, we move on the transmission. Its not leaking around the pan (though I'm going to change the gasket any how), its leaking around the shift linkage (SL). I've never had to fix a leaky SL before. I tried googling it to no avail. I also talked to the guy at the parts store and he wasn't sure either. Being one who like to have ALL materials before I attempt a feat, I'm just wondering if you guys can tell me what I need, or what I'm looking at? Is it a gasket, O-ring, what? Oh yeah, it's a TH-350. Thanks in advance, Jeff.

Disregard. They sell a seal for it at Advance Auto Parts, F.Y.I. Thanks anyways.

do you have to drop the pan to get that shaft out? ive leaked about out of everywhere else but that spot. i know if you take that bolt off on the outside you just take off the part the shift rod goes to

I was under it yesterday changing the Trans filter and pan gasket. I could not get the shift shaft seal out at all. I fought with it for a while and decided to give the Trans shop a call for some guidance. The mechanic I spoke with said the the valve body had to come down (at least in a TH-350) to get the shaft out to change the seal. I don't know if it's true or not, but I sure couldn't get it to budge. That being said, it got packed full of blue rtv, and will not be changed until a rebuild is needed.:icon_patriot:
