missing parts ?

Have replaced radiator support bracket on 1980 K5 Blazer...cannot seem to find anything to attach headlights to other than adjusting screws...the headlight door seems to simply fit over the headlight w/o securing the headlight....I must have lost something but don't seem to have any "extra" parts left over ??? Is there a parts diagram to detail what I may be missing ?

Sounds like you have misplaced the springs.

Send a picture of your K5's front end and one of the headlight area. Are your lights round or square? I don't know what "door" you are referring to. These bulbs are secured buy an aluminum ring with three screws about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch long. These attach to the bezels. The headlight bezel is attached by a set of three inch long screws and two springs about two inches long. The screws will be mounted at the tops and one side of each bulb. The springs will be mounted at the bottoms and the opposite sides from the screws. Tighten or loosen the crews the and the spring keeps tension to adjust the bezel. Hope it helps

missing parts, headlights on '80 K5 Blazer

Thanks guys ! I had forgotten about the springs holding the lights. I found them, installed them and all is well. The headlight door I referred to is what many of the shops call the finish chrome around the light....certainly doesn't seem like a door to me ! But hey, I am the one who forgot about the springs ! Thanks again for the help......this old Blazer will be a long labor of love....I'll probably be back.:icon_wink:
