Need help!!!

Hi guys, just got an 86 K5 Blazer with a 350 and holley 4160 carb. The truck idled really high, i was looking online and found out it needed different brackets and kickdown for A.O.D ttransmission which i put on because it had wires hooked to the kickdown to hold it on. Also there was no 12v+ hooked to the electric choke just the negative, and it seems like it may be missing springs or something to keep the idle steady. Anyone know what i may need to fix it properly so it will run smooth?

Do you have a main throttle return spring? Have you adjusted the idle speed screw which should be located on the primary throttle shaft near where the throttle cable attaches?

There was a blue return spring on there but when i put the new bracket and kickdown on there was no place to put it.... after searching the internet over and over i found out i need a ( throttle return spring bracket ) which i will be picking up from Jegs today and see if that works. I appreciate any and all help, I am a moron when it comes to carbs lol

Ok, I got the return spring bracket and installed it. It runs and idles like a dream, but the choke is still not hooked up. Is is ok like that or should i hook the choke up?

If you don't have any problem starting it when its cold, you probably can get by without the choke. Really depends on where you live.
