Need Help with GM NV3500 Repair!
Hello Everyone,
I'm new to this forum and I'm hoping some of you experts can help me with my problem I've been dealing with for weeks now. The Backstory: I drive a 1992 Chevy Blazer Full-Size, 5 speed with a 350 Small Block. I recently replaced my clutch and once I put the entire thing back together I discovered a loud whining noise which turned out to be the main input shaft bearing. I ordered the bearing and removed the entire transmission from the truck and removed the bell housing and replaced the bearing. When I went to reinstall the bell housing I had some difficulty fitting it back on because the case has loose roller bearings for the reverse gear and shifter arms that have to fit into spots in the inside the bell housing. My buddy and I wrestled with it for days until we finally got it lined up(or so we thought) and we screwed in the bolts that hold the two halves of the case together to use them to pull the bell housing down straight and the gear casing cracked. The Problem: My GM NV3500 transmission (4x4) has a crack on the gear casing and I can't find a place to buy a replacement transmission. Any ideas for how to repair it or a place to buy one? I checked Ebay, Craigslist, and my local junkyards. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/blazerf...103c9484a1.png https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/blazerf...1f698bbe4d.png https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/blazerf...b46431196a.png https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/blazerf...2f13e13ff4.jpg |
I would try to look into which other trucks have been using the same gearbox. Then search for these vehicles as well on the scrap yards.
