Default New Here, but hard top, pieces question? Custom

Ok, we just got a 90 K5 Blazer, it's in great condition, I was wondering though, has anyone ever like cut the hardtop up, and made it bolt together or similar like the newer jeeps? That way one could easily take off and store the hard top, or just remove parts of it?

I've seen a guy cut the sides out so it is more like a safari top. He didn't make any provisions for putting it back on though....

The half shells are so plentiful you could pick up a few cheap and try it out...

I like the custom cab backs--they are very functional, and you can keep heat in.
