Passenger door, won't stay open!!
I was cleaning up my Blazer yesterday afternoon, to go to the drive-in last night. I opened the passenger door and something popped, and I heard
something fall into the fender. I found a piece of an S type of spring on the upper door hinge, still attached. The door now closes by itself. I only have an LMC catalogue, and it looks like a door spring snapped. What do I need to do to fix this? I do all the mechanical work myself, but I am not much of a body and fender guy... Thanks for the help..... |
yup that s clip is what holds your door open. the easiest way will probably be to pop the hinge pins out and remove the door. i think they make a special tool to put the new s clips on too.

O.K. thanks for the tip, I think there is just the spring clip on the top
hinge, I will battle with it in a few weeks. Thanks again... |
just open the drivers side door and use that as reference. they also sell a tool to compress that spring to get it in there. its a pain to do it without that tool. harbor freight sells them
