I converted my rear drum to disk using junkyard and new parts. This was on my 89 S15 Jimmy. The major points was a follows. 1) The mounting tab on the donor axle for the hard line to brake hose on each side needed to be chiseled off and welded them on to my axle. 2) The mounting plate on my existing axle needed to be squared off and 2 holes drilled for the disc backing plate. 3) The brake calipers needed to be shimmed slightly to center the calipers on the rotors. I pulled R/L brake lines, mounting tabs, backing plates, calipers, hoses, rotors and all the hardware. I purchased Shim kit on ebay and I used the junkyard calipers as turn it items for rebuilt calipers at advanced auto. Below is my original Write up.
