rear end

hey guys whats up.
lately my 85 blazer has been making this kind of bang noise in the rear end. it happens after I come to a stop (like at a red light) and then start moving again, as soon as I'm going about 3 or 4 miles an hour it makes that noise and it feels like something moves in the back of the truck, its like something drops down, (kinda like the whole axle housing is turning alittle). also it does not do it as bad or at all if I just little the brake off and let the idle move the truck for a few hundred feet, but if I let off the brake and step on the gas right away thats when it does it. I know all four shocks are pretty bad on it, the front ones do not even have bushings anymore, so I"ve ordered new ones and I'm waiting for them to be shiped. could it just be the bad shocks, thats what I'm hoping, but I'm not holding my breath! any thoughts or Ideas about this would be helpful thanks.

Have you checked the U-joint?

+1 on the u-joints. Check them and let us know.

If it's not u-joints it could be the mount point for the shocks. If you've lost the rubbers or the bolt/nut has come loose it can move around and give you that exact feeling. Learned that the hard way myself.

well it turns out that it was the U-joint that was bad, and of cause it broke while I was heading to work one morning before I could replace it. but anyway there's one more problem fixed. thanks for the help guys.
