Rear End Shaft Length

Hello!

before i can order the right shafts for my truck i need to be sure that i order the right one.
because i live outside the U.S and it's a bit impossible for me to return in if I'll get the order wrong.
so the truck is Chevrolet blazer k5 90, with gm 8.5" 10 bolt rear axle with 6 lugs and 28 splines on the shafts.
the man I'm ordering the shafts from needs to know the length of the shaft.
if anyone knows the dimensions of the shafts, it will be very helpful.

Thanks in advance, yarin.

Post what trans and transfercase you have too and how high of a lift if any. Those all come into play

are you sure all this info is required?
i mean, the rear axle I've got is probably the original one, so there's must be only one type of shafts in it, am i right?
one way or another, I'll post the requested info.

Yarin.

I think abig84 was thinking you were looking for the rear drive shaft. Not the axle shafts themselves.

My references show that you should have a 30 spline 10-bolt with the axle shaft length of 31-5/16". It is the same length on both sides for the rear axle.

OK, i already know i got the 28 splines, there's a brand new detroit locker I've installed by myself so i know the count. now all i need is the length of those..
by the way when you say 31-5/16", you measure the shaft's overall length without the lugs? or what?

That measurement came from a few different parts suppliers.

Why don't you measure what you have? It sounds like you do not have the stock axle under there given the spline count. EVERYTHING I have read states that it should be 30 spline.

i guess i have no choice, it just bums me out to open the diff just to take a single measurement.
