Rear end swap

Hey y'all, I'm new to the forum. I have a 79 K5 with a 10 inch lift. Everything else in the drive train is pretty much stock. My question is this...I would like to up grade my rear axle to one with disc brakes. I'm not sure of the gearing as there is no tag and I have yet to find ID numbers. This is my daily driver so anything y'all recommend would be gratefully accepted.

Best upgrade would be a full floater 14 bolt out of a 3/4 ton truck. Will be a direct bolt in and you'll have to buy a disc brake conversion kit. But the only downfall is they only come in 8 lugs

What I was thinking was something out of a new half ton truck that already has disc brakes. Is that feasible? or am I biting off more then I can chew?

actually ive heard mention of it before. is i guess for a few years they made a semi floating 14 bolt with 6 lug axle shafts. BUT i really dont know that much about it. usually its just followed by they are hard to come by.

you would just have to google around and ask around.
