I posted this in the paint section also but didn't know if that was the correct place.
Does anyone make a replacement hood for the 73-78 C/K series trucks WITHOUT the front edge body line that was on the 79-80's? It seems all replacement hoods have that body line and they list them for 73-80 fitment. I want a hood that matches the original, not a 79,80 hood.

 

I know what you mean here. I have a '74 as well and it does appear as though all of the hoods are the 79-80 with the style line in the very front. I checked all of my usual sources and came to the same conclusion if the pictures provided are accurate.

If that actually is the case, I'm not sure how easy it would be to flatten out that style line while prepping for paint, but you wouldn't want to just fill it.

I wont be doing the body work on the truck( no patience for paint, mechanic by trade ). I will try to check with my painter tonight.
