T-case question

Hey, I posted before about taking the transfer-case(NP208) out of my '82 K5. Well I took it out and put a replacement in, and just took the old case apart. I had removed this case because it was making loud grinding noises and I thought it was toast. When I took it apart, the internals looked brand new and there was no metal flakes I could see. This is my first T-case so maybe they all look new inside?. It look in good shape anyways. When I put the half of the case down that the output shaft slides into(the side without all the gears), I heard a clinking. I looked in and the bearing for the output shaft was just sitting loosely. I took it apart and checked the bearing out, It seemed tight and span freely so I carefully taped it back into place. I was wondering if I could use this as a spare case now? or will the bearing likely just fall out again? Has anyone else had this happen? Could bad pinion angles maybe cause this? I noticed as well that the case had no actual gaskets in place, just the black liquid gasket. Could this case be the victim of a poor mans rebuild? I got the truck in Nov of '08 and the case broke, or maybe just fell apart, In Oct '09(just for reference). Thanks for the help guys!

Steven.

If anything keep it around for spare parts. I've built 2 out of 1 before

Alright, will do. Is that bearing usually pressed in do you know?
