Trans cooler lines
 

First off my K5 came from the factory with the 6.2 and the normal trans for that motor( I forget the name at the moment). One of the POs before me swapped in a SBC motor with a Th350 trans. The problem I have is that I have a leak coming from some compression fittings connecting the lines coming out of the trans( I think they were cut off from the doner truck) and the factory lines going to the cooler, again cut off and connected together with the compression fittings. Will a kit from LMC or someone similar work to replace the lines so I can get rid of the fittings or would I be better off going to a hydralic shop and having custom high pressue reinforced rubber lines made? I always have trouble buying parts for this thing because I have no clue what the motor and trans is out of, it is a frakenstien of a blazer!

if you wanted to do it the right right way youd have to replace your lines. but i dont know if anyone sells prebent lines. transmissions dont really have alot of psi to them. you can just cut out the compression fittings and replace it with rubber hose. or try tightening them. maybe whoever did them just put them on hand tight

Not sure but I think I had the same problem. The metal lines coming from the tranny had the compression fitting and the rubber hose from the cooler. What i had to do was slide away the compression fitting and just get the hose over the metal line (the metal line should still have a ridge on it) and then clamp it real well right behind the ridge.

I'm not sure if that is the right answer but it was worked pretty solid for me since the fall but when I got from the PO it was leaking, you have to make sure the hoses overlap well.

A nice thing i have seen done is take the adapter out of the trans case that the stock lines goes into and get an AN- fitting and some steel braided lines. Looks killer.

my lines are all steel, I think I am going to pick up some fuel line in the right size to slide over the areas where the fittings are and clamp it on. if that don't work I'll have some hoses made. Does any one have a rough guess on what the tranny fluid PSI is inside the cooler lines?
