Default transfer case questions

hey i got the ol 78 blazer and i was tryin to find out why the front end wobbles i raised it up and saw that my front tires didnt spin so i guessed i was in 4 wheel drive so i switch it to neutral and my whole truck wont drive back or forward so i guess i have to be in 4 wheel drive in order to go ..so i guess i have full time 4x4 ??i was looking through my shop manual and that would make my transfer case a model 203 /i guess 205 is part time .my 4 wheel shifter is on the floor with l low lock n hi hi lock .ive read that neutral is for power take off what the hells does that mean?

yeah 203 is a fulltime case. neutral just seperates the transfercase from the transmission. basically the only use i see for it is if your vehicle is being flat towed

yeah. i have the same t-case. full time is the only way to go brother!!! and if your wondering the locked means that the power it puts to the front and rear is equal. if its not locked then i could send more power to the rear or front as needed.

Wheel bearings aren't too bad to replace. They're cheap too! You have to get a special socket to be able to remove the spanner nuts in the front hubs.

The wobble is likely due to worn steering components (tie-rod ends, etc).

well when you jack up the frontm end you can wobble the tire back and for like a half inch or so ..the bushings on my steering joints are shot and fallin off ..i wanna do both because i think it probably a combonation of both so if i get the wrench then what ..in my shop manual it only shows how to pack them..man these service manuals are a pain i need the dumbed down version i guess it says g 10 g 20 c10 g 10 nothin about k5 anything i remember someone sayin chevy called the somethin differant like a light duty truck was a G or somethin and a van was some other random letter ..its sayin in here to replace the bushiongs on the tie rods you have to have special tools and press them out is this thecase....sorry yall bear with mei apprecite the help i just need a straight forward way to replace these things everything online is all newer trucks

what i been doing at work lately is actually taking cell phone pics of stuff. especially doing a big job like swapping heads cause sometimes they are gone for a few days and i always get hung up on something stupid like a bracket and i can always resort back to my pictures

only downside is the boss sees me and thinks im texting
