Transmission swap - Manual to Auto
 

First off -- Howdy I'm back. Never thought I'd find one that i liked again but we did and got it for a great price. Running & driving 1987 K5 with the 305/SM465.

Trying to figure out what would be entailed to get it to the 700R4 (may be dropping in a 350 at the same time but most likely will just mild build up the 305).

Back to what I'm trying to figure out, I seem to find everything the other way since that's what everybody wants. There's reasons we want the auto in this beast (for now at least).

What would I need to achieve this? Off the top of my head I'm thinking of --

Transmission & torque coverter
Steering column w/ shifter
Possibly transfer case
Flex plate


Computer -- that's where I'm not quite sure. I have the ECM sitting behind the glovebox. Does that handle transmission features or will I need a separate TCM?
